One of the first questions I'm often asked before starting a new project is "Which domain extension should I use?" There are many but these are the most used... If you qualify.

.com (commercial)

This is an open TLD; any person or entity is permitted to register. Though originally intended for use by for-profit business entities, for a number of reasons it became the main TLD for domain names and is currently used by all types of entities including nonprofits, schools, and private individuals. Domain name registrations may be successfully challenged if the holder cannot prove an outside relation justifying reservation of the name, to prevent "squatting". It was originally administered by the United States Department of Defense.

.org (organization)

This is an open TLD; any person or entity is permitted to register. Originally created as a miscellaneous category as stated in RFC 920 (October 1984) "...any other domains meeting the second level requirements," and clarified in RFC 1591, "This domain is intended as the miscellaneous TLD for organizations that didn't fit anywhere else. Some non-government organizations may fit here." While mainly non-profits have used this domain, it was never restricted from miscellaneous use.

.net (network)

This is an open TLD; any person or entity is permitted to register. According to RFC 1591 "This domain is intended to hold only the computers of network providers."

.int (international)

The .int TLD is strictly limited to organizations, offices, and programs endorsed by a treaty between two or more nations. However, a few grandfathered domains do not meet these criteria.

.edu (education)

The .edu TLD is limited to specific higher educational institutions such as, but not limited to, trade schools and universities. In the U.S., its use was restricted in 2001 to post-secondary institutions accredited by an agency on the list of nationally recognized accrediting agencies. This domain is therefore almost exclusively used by American colleges and universities. Some institutions, such as the Exploratorium, that do not meet the current registration criteria have grandfathered domain names.

.gov (U.S. national and state government agencies)

The .gov TLD is limited to United States governmental entities and agencies as well as qualifying state, county and local municipal government agencies, and tribal governments.

.mil (U.S. military)

The .mil TLD is limited to divisions, services and agencies of the United States Department of Defense.

To Be or Not To Be

I steer away from WordPress whenever I can. My basis of programming is from raw code. Everyone will tell you WordPress is the best solution for your new business website because everyone is using it. I tend to think about it as the same as 'taking a pencil across the street using an 18 wheel truck.'

While it might have been solid advice a few years ago, the odds are very high that WordPress is not the way to go for your business this day and age. You should not have to worry about servers, development environments, deployments, and outdated code anymore if you’re building a basic website.

AI Tech

AI technologies can be categorized into three main types based on their capabilities:

Machine Learning (ML): It is a subset of AI that enables systems to learn from data and improve their performance without being explicitly programmed. Supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning are common approaches within machine learning.

Natural Language Processing (NLP): This involves the interaction between computers and humans using natural language. NLP enables machines to understand, interpret, and generate human-like text or speech.

Computer Vision: This field focuses on enabling machines to interpret and make decisions based on visual data. Applications include image and video recognition, object detection, and facial recognition.

A Musician Website

For years now, the trend with some aspiring musicians has been to ditch the website and stick to other online options, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Bandcamp, and a plethora of others. Those are all great platforms, and they’re worth spending time and effort to develop as an artist, but none of them - and not even all of them combined - can replace a proper website. Not to mention the fact that we will incorporate your social media into the website. Musician’s websites are still incredibly helpful, useful, and they’re no longer the expensive investment they used to be.

Keep it Simple, Stupid!

KISS, an acronym for "Keep it simple, stupid!", is a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960. First seen partly in American English by at least 1938, the KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore, simplicity should be a key goal in design, and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.

Albert Said It

This is the most important quote in business to customer relations... And I'm guilty of this in so many levels. There's been many times where I've been asked to explain how I do certain things, and I cannot come up with a simple explanation because there's no common reference. I can explain "what" I will do, but many times not "how" in simple context.
